WTT project “Technology support for single and small batch production using CNC technology”
The problem of an effective and error-free production of individual parts and small batch sizes has always been a concern of technological research. The knowledge-based provision of regulations, rules and recommendations is playing an increasingly important role.
When selecting the optimal manufacturing processes, machines, tools, cutting materials and clamping devices, it is often helpful to provide workpiece-specific technological knowledge in order to support customers in business in making the right decisions for upcoming investments if necessary.
Furthermore, the balancing act between flexibility and effectiveness of the installed production systems can be better managed by providing the company’s own Know-how for high-quality production.
The project within the framework of a knowledge and technology transfer (WTT) “Technology support for single and small batch production using CNC technology” is intended to take up these key points and to generate solutions. It will be carried out in the period from July 1st, 2020 to March 31st, 2021.
The aim of the WTT is a holistic solution for the optimal production of individual components with batch sizes from 1 to 10 at an SME.
The focus should be placed optionally
• on the decision-making for a machine investment with the selection and equipment of the machine as well
• for an existing machine, on the selection of tools, clamping devices and machine peripherals
The project is promoted by the Investment Bank of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (www.ib-lsa.de) on behalf of the Ministry of Economics, Science and Digitization with European Regional Development Funds (ERDF).
